Game Company: Something We Made

Our Tasks: Sound Design, Fmod Implementation

Goal

To create a soundscape that suited the adventerous and quirky world of TOEM. 

The game sets you on a delightful expedition with your camera to uncover the mysteries of the magical TOEM in this hand-drawn adventure game. Chat with quirky characters, solve their problems by snapping neat photos, and make your way through a relaxing landscape!

The sound design is largely focused on creating a colorful sonic experience with soothing ambiences set in a Scandinavian landscape and giving each character a distinct personality. The characters of the world has a playful, cartoony quality and even the smallest creature in the world has a sound, to get the feeling that you really are exploring every tiny bit of this world.

 

Since the game mechanics rely heavily on the in-game camera a big part of the sound design was to create a compelling and satisfying sonic UI.

All sounds and music is implemented via FMOD.
